Hedonism

Hedonism is the prioritizing of material pleasure. Hedonism is a trap, where the person will never be fulfilled, but will always yearn for more pleasure. Extreme cases of this are drug and porn addiction and alcoholism. Hedonism is linked to the biblical concept of gluttony: overeating and never being satisfied. Hedonism is always bad. One should never do anything for the sole reason of achieving pleasure, because pleasure is relative, and pleasure will come. The wealthiest and the poorest can all feel pleasure, for pleasure is always relative to one's circumstances. Pleasure is not directly linked with virtue or rightousness, so it shall always be of secondary importance.
